Graduates of International Non-Accredited Dental Programs

In order to obtain certification as a general dentist in Canada, graduates of non-accredited dental programs will be required to:

1.    Successfully complete a Qualifying or Degree Completion Program at an accredited Canadian university, 
                                                                           OR
       Successfully complete the Equivalency Process offered by the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB).   

2.  AND Successfully complete the NDEB Written and Virtual Objective Structured Clinical Examination (VOSCE) examinations.

Please note that the Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge component of the NDEB Equivalency Process will be an admission requirement for Qualifying and Degree Completion Programs.

These programs are especially designed to orient international graduates to dentistry and dental practice in Canada.

The following is a list of accredited dental universities that may offer a Qualifying or Degree Completion Program. Please be aware that the number of individuals accepted into these programs will be limited by the resources available to the Faculty of Dentistry.

The result of your Eligibility Examination is one of the requirements for application to a Qualifying Program or a Degree Completion Program. Each university will inform you of its admission policy, including any language proficiency requirements, and the type of certificate or degree it offers to students.
